The president of the Mets, Sandy Alderson, invited a number of Cal (University of California, Berkeley) donors to a Mets game on September 29. It turns out, he had spent some time teaching at the Haas business school at Cal and had good memories of his time there. Candace received her PhD from Cal. and I got to go a a plus one.

We were invited to his box on the Empire level of Citi Field. There was plenty of food and drink and some discussion of Alderson’s baseball career including the rise of “moneyball.” It was a great way watch a game!

Unfortunately, the Mets lost to the Marlins, 3-2, but it was still a good time.
